Wisdom
It is foolish
to consecrate our time, our energy, our life, to accumulate material wealth that we will
have to leave behind, anyway, when we die.
Wisdom consists
in accumulating true values, the ones that last and that, by their own nature, belong
already to eternity. These values are all the actions that we do, not as a duty but out of
love, for the good of others, forgetting ourselves in order to serve, to give of
ourselves... by loving.
By orienting
our life this way, our chores will become pleasant, and the most insignificant actions
will be transformed, because they will have a very special meaning: they will have been
done out of love.
Love is the
very nature of God. Since God is not matter like us, but Spirit, He is not limited by what
we call "time"; He is eternal. Likewise all the actions we perform for love of
Him will be of the same nature.
The true
meaning of our passage through this life is not the enjoyment of material things, but to
prepare together, in unity and mutual help, our entrance to the real LIFE.
